The Chamber of Commerce is a public law and private management corporation whose mission is:

• Represent, promote and defend the general interests of commerce, industry, services and the maritime sector.
• Provide services to companies.
• Perform as many activities as necessary to boost the economy of Bizkaia.

The Chamber is a consultative and collaborative body with the Public Administrations, before which they represent the general interests of the companies. Given the social and economic importance of its purposes, the Law establishes the automatic affiliation of all companies to the Census of the same. In order to enhance active participation in those institutions whose scope of management converges with the general interests of the Chamber, the participation of the Chamber in various Entities with Representation takes place. The expenditure control is ensured by the external Audit and by the supervision of all accounting and budgetary operations by the Guardianship Administration, the Department of Tourism, Commerce and Consumption of the Basque Government.
