We celebrate our 30th Anniversary with a tribute to the great Basque logistics family
 

To this end, we organized “Logistika eguna”, an event in which we brought together, for the first time, 600 Basque professionals from the strategic logistics sector.

Among our objectives:

• To show the role of logistics in the economic development of Euskadi, Bizkaia and Bilbao and, by extension, that of its citizens.
• Recognize the role that plays each of its professionals in making the network work. Strengthen ties of cooperation.

We can proudly say that “Logistika eguna”, a formal and at the same time social meeting, has been a success.

It has brought together professionals from all modes of transport (maritime, land and air transport) and their multiple associated activities. Both from the public and private sectors.

For the welcome and institutional greetings we had the words of:

F. Jaber Bringas: “We wanted to celebrate our 30th anniversary by paying tribute to those who are part of this great family of Basque logistics, to each of the sectors integrated in it, public and private. We are all important for our companies to export and import. Only by collaborating we move forward and we move forward together. We all add up, whether we are big or small”.

On the other hand, Ricardo Barkala recalled the great transformation of the port in these 30 years and how the transfer of space was the engine of the transformation of the city of Bilbao itself. At the same time, he expressed his satisfaction for the great response to the call, and especially for the high participation of young people: “it is time to celebrate logistics and to promote and encourage the new generations to work in this sector, a necessary and exciting world”.

Asier Abaunza, during his greeting, he recalled the importance of the logistics sector for the citizens as a whole, and for territorial development. A sector “that works through collaboration”, pointing out that a day like today's “at the same time favors business and personal relationships”.

Finally, the deputy general of Bizkaia, Elixabete Etxanobe, reaffirmed the pride of having in Bizkaia the important logistics cluster generated around the port of Bilbao and recalled that “We are proud of these 30 years. The Provincial Council of Bizkaia feels proud and part of it. It is very gratifying to participate in this cluster, in such a great project based on public-private collaboration and which has had such important achievements”.

After the speeches, all those present were able to enjoy the Aurresku of honor.

Before lunch, Iker Larrauri (EuroCargo Express) as spokesman for the Organizing Committee, thanked the attendees for coming to the meeting and the institutions and companies for their support, so that, after months of intense work, “today is an ideal moment to put a face to that voice or email address with which we exchange calls and emails periodically and thus create new ties”.

We are happy to share that the celebration of our 30th Anniversary Logistika Eguna has been recognised with the ‘ERRONKA GARBIA’ environmental sustainability certificate for events, awarded by IHOBE (Public Society for Environmental Management), which recognises that, among other measures, accessibility, the least possible use of non-recyclable materials, good energy use, etc. have been taken into account, so that potential negative impacts on the environment have been minimised.
