When the supply chain is tensioned, intelligence logistics comes to the rescue with a prime objective: to liberate, imagine and highlight that now, more than ever, logistics is one of the most important movers of the global economy. For this reason, on November 5th, the VASCO family group, in collaboration with Deusto Business Alumni, organised a session for professionals and the media.

During the session, challenges and trends in current supply chains were studied. Jon Azarloza, CEO of VASCO, was committed to digitalization and creativity at the client's service: “Each actor in the supply chain has its own system, and the client likes to see a global view of their business, the future is in integration tools. With 5G, Big Data and BlockChain, and artificial intelligence artificial technologies, information transparency has finally arrived, and traceability, so necessary for sustainability and speed”, he stated.

The director of the supply chain and sustainability of Tubacex, Charles Kirby, stated that “industry has never before been subject to a shock in supply costs such as this, even during the oil crisis of the 70s”. “The price of some raw materials has skyrocketed, and there is no way to protect oneself”, added Kirby. For the professionals in VASCO, this is a scenario the company has been facing for over 50 years. 

The supply chain is always a strategic asset that looks for collaborative innovation and “struggles to be sustainable”, in the words of Naiara Tobalina, managing director of Deusto Business Alumni.
