The multimodal logistics cluster of the port of Bilbao present at WindEurope Bilbao 2022

WindEurope 2022 brought together the European wind energy sector in Bilbao from 5 to 7 April at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) and, at the same time, allowed the Basque Country to showcase the capacity of its energy sector in the world of wind turbines. 

Approximately 300 speakers, 350 companies and more than 8,000 visitors attended this year's event. 

Europe currently has 236 GW of installed wind power capacity, to which 8.5 GW per year should be added to reach the target of 453 GW by 2030, according to the "Fit for 55" target set by the European Commission, which aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 55%.  Similarly, according to the International Energy Agency, a significant increase in cumulative capacity is expected worldwide.

The deployment already carried out (and the future) would not be possible without all the links provided by the multimodal logistics chain.

This is why Uniport, as representative of the multimodal logistics cluster of the port of Bilbao, has once again been present at this second edition of WindEurope in Bilbao, sharing, on this occasion, a stand with the Port Authority of Bilbao, which has been a meeting point for the logistics and production sector.

The port of Bilbao is also, physically, a hub for the wind industry, both for import and export and for the manufacture of components, as well as for the construction of prototypes.
