HAIZEA WIND | Announces the enlargement of their plant in the port of Bilbao

Haizea Wind, a company in the port of Bilbao dedicated to manufacturing towers wind turbines, announces the concession request for a new plot of 56,000 square metres.

Once the resolution is published, the company hopes to begin the enlargement of the production plant, firstly for an important contract from the Danish company Orsted. The enlargement will create another 350 jobs in addition to the 400 current jobs, and it is expected to be operational in 2023.

Haizea Wind has a concession of almost 124,000 square metres in quay AZ2, where it began its activities in May 2018 after investing 65 million euros, to which 17.5 million was provided by the Port Authority for the construction of the industrial building under concession, which houses the company’s activities, was added.

The current plant takes advantage of production components for wind turbines next to the dock, as due to their size, it would be impossible to transport them by road for export, and provides raw material importation traffic which, once transformed at the port, are exported, making the most of the ecosystem of logistics services concentrated in the port community, from charters to customs clearance and stowage, lashing and other services for goods and ships.
