Bilbao i March 17th

UNIPORT has been one of the Basque Country clusters that today signed a general action protocol for collaboration with the General Administration of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, through the Department of Labor and Employment of the Basque Government, Lanbide, in matters of prospecting, training, innovation for employment and socio-labour insertion.

The signing of this protocol has been chaired by the Vice President, Minister of Labor and Employment and President of the Board of Directors of Lanbide, Idoia Mendía.

The event brought together the clusters that share the mission of boosting their respective sectors of activity, enabling cooperation between Basque companies to provide a joint response to the challenges that each of them faces.

This mission allows  an advanced position to identify the appropriate professional profiles that cover the needs of the productive fabric.

Together with UNIPORT, other clusters also signed the protocol: ACICAE, ACLIMA, ERAIKUNE, the Euskadi Food Cluster, GAIA, AFM, HEGAN and MLC-ITS EUSKADI.

With this protocol, the clusters are involved, among other objectives, in:

- Establish coordinated strategies for the technological-digital, energy-climatic, as well as social, health and demographic transition.

- Detect labour and qualification demand, and the adaptation of professional profiles to the needs of the business fabric.

- Establish communication channels to favor the deployment of action programs. - Promote intersectoral collaboration in order to align Lanbide's actions with the needs of the business fabric.

The event ended with the presentation "Basque Labour Market: Projections and Transition Strategy" by Javier Ramos, adviser on Institutional Relations, and closed by Alfonso Gurpegui, Deputy Minister for Employment and Inclusion.

A very relevant day due to the potential of public-private cooperation for the development of human capital and talent at the service of the community.
