THE MARITIME AUTHORITY | A new associated company

One of the incorporations into Uniport during the quarter is the Maritime Authority of Bilbao as a member of honour approved by the General Assembly at the proposal of the Management Board.

This constitutes acknowledgement for its services and non-monetary contributions that contribute to the development of Uniport's corporate goals as an association representing the port of Bilbao cluster, the main multimodal logistic centre of the southern European south Atlantic. 

We can highlight that the objectives of the Maritime Authorities in Spain are indicated in the Consolidated Text of the State Ports Law and the Merchant Navy in 2011, which includes the following functional areas: 

• Navigation planning.
• Maritime safety.
• Prevention of sea pollution.
• General, legal and disciplinary proceedings.
