CONSULMAR GROUP | SYM | First multi-purpose electric ship for port use

The Consulmar Group and the SYM Naval shipyards have signed a pioneering contract for building the first multi-purpose electric ship for port use in Europe.

The "e-ship", with an overall length of 12.5 metres and a 5-metre beam, can operate for 8 hours, with space for 12 passengers, 30 m³ capacity for loading MARPOL-I liquid waste and providing docking services.

The new ship, with 100% electric propulsion and zero emissions, is currently being built by SYM Naval in their shipyard in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona) and will be launched in the summer of 2022.
